NEW YORK SCHOOL OF THE ARTS
As an artist, I have always been drawn to the idea of layers. The concept of multiple layers creating depth and meaning within a single image has always intrigued me. With this in mind, I decided to embark on a new project exploring the idea of layers through abstract painting.
The process of creating these paintings started with an underpainting of loose, organic forms in muted tones. I then built up multiple layers of bold, bright colors, using a variety of techniques including brushwork, drips, and palette knife marks. The end result is a series of abstract paintings that are rich in texture and depth, with each layer contributing to the overall feeling and meaning of the piece.
What I love about these paintings is the way they invite the viewer to look beyond the surface and explore the various layers. Each painting is a visual representation of my own personal journey and experiences, with each layer representing a different aspect of my life. Whether it’s the bright and bold brushstrokes representing my passion for art, or the subtle and muted underpainting representing my introspective nature, each painting tells a unique story.
